Here’s part II of our beach trip and the 4th of July on BHI!
Our traditional Low Country Boil night
4th of July on BHI
Going to Bald Head Island on the 4th of July is always a madhouse. The island is the most crowded, but it’s also the most festive! The highlight is the golf cart parade. We haven’t been for the 4th in quite a few years, but this was a fun week to go!
On the 4th we dressed in RW&B and (lightly) decorated our cart. We drove to park along Stede Bonnet for the parade.

There are always so many fun themes, and some of the carts when by so fast we couldn’t really take them in! But the parade had probably 100 carts and was a fun time. We were lucky to be in the shade!

Loved all the ships / boats / ferry carts

Up theme:

Wicked theme!

Pirates!

Beach Day
Back at the beach, the kids made a happy birthday cake for America and an American blueberry pie.

Good Books
While they were reading, I finished The Sicilian Inheritance, which was excellent! Highly recommend. And I started this Kristen Hannah book – Summer Island. And if you like island thrillers, Isle of Hunger is now on Amazon!

USA Lunch
Typical beach week lunch: sandwich, chips, watermelon.

Father’s Day Lunch
We took my dad out for a Father’s Day lunch!

And also had a family dinner at the club later in the week. Loved this Citrus Fennel Salad and Blacked Shrimp Risotto.

On the way home, we spotted this guy hanging out in the golf course pond!

Hope he wasn’t on his way to the bird nesting pond!

We also met Gloria the turtle at the Shoal’s club!

Low Country Boil
We enjoyed our annual low country boil out on the gazebo.

Taco Night
On our last night we had tacos! And used up all the extra beers : )

And the ice cream!

We had one more walk on the beach at dusk. So beautiful!

That’s a wrap until next time!
