
Enjoy a delicious drink during happy hour while still focusing on getting your greens with green juice drinks. Cocktail bars around the country are jumping on the cold-pressed juice craze bandwagon and are now offering detox-savvy green juice cocktails to their menus. However, with an exaggerated nod to token green leaf cleansing superstars, such as kale, wheatgrass, and spinach.
But you don’t have to take a bus into the city to enjoy a drink that you can recreate at home. The following green juice recipes are indeed cocktails you can kick back with. They’re simple-syrup free and each features green leaf juice or puree that offers incredible health benefits, even while you’re boozing.

1. Pineapple-Basil-Kale Smash

Start the green juice drink cocktail with this refreshing and tropical option. All you need is .5 cup of fresh pineapple, chopped into chunks, with 5 basil leaves, 1.5 ounces of rye, .25 ounces of kale juice, and extra basil leaves and pineapple for garnish.
Muddle the pineapple and basil leaves in a cocktail shaker until they resemble a puree. Fill the shaker with ice and add rye and kale juice, then shake well. Strain in a glass and garnish.
2. Spinach Margarita

It’s never a bad time for a margarita, and with spinach as your main ingredient, you can enjoy it without guilt. This is one of the best green juice drinks to have during cocktail hour. Combine 1 cup of white grape juice with 2 ounces of tequila, 2 ounces of triple sec, the juice of 1 lime, and 1 cup of fresh spinach leaves.
Throw all these ingredients into a blender with 2 cups of ice and blend on high speed. Once the mixture is smooth and slushy, pour it into a margarita glass.
3. Gin and Green Juice

Try this green juice drink by getting 2.5 ounces of regular green juice (whatever mixture you want), 2 ounces of organic gin, and the juice of one lime.
Add these ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake well. Serve in a glass and garnish with lime or a sprig of mint.
4. Cucumber Kale Mule

Cucumber and kale are full of fiber and are a refreshing treat when mixed with booze. Combine 2.5 ounces of vodka, 1.5 ounces of fresh cucumber and kale juice, .75 ounces of lime juice, and 3 ounces of ginger beer. Add the ingredients, besides the ginger beer, into a shaker and shake well.
Strain this mixture of green juice into a glass with ice. Pour the ginger beer overtop the mixture and garnish with cucumber slices and limes.
5. The Jolly Green Machine

This Green Machine cocktail has everything you need to enjoy a party while knowing you’re getting vitamins and fiber for the day. Add 2 parts kale juice, 3 parts fresh lemonade, 1 part organic gin, 2 parts club soda, and 1/2 part St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur.
Simply add the ingredients into a shake with ice and shake well. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with cucumbers or lemons.
