Below Karen shares a poem about yoga on a chair along with some seated postures to try at home.
When I think of yoga on a chairÂ
What springs to mind is adding flairÂ
Poses where we can include a blockÂ
This can help with strength a lotÂ
Coming to balance into treeÂ
Your foot on a block is good with meÂ
We can fold forward with easeÂ
Make it harder the block we squeezeÂ
In downward dog we get to chooseÂ
The intent and purpose we won’t loseÂ
Therefore seated upon the chairÂ
Legs tense, arms pushing in the airÂ
The chair placement under hands
To support us when we decide to standÂ
Accessibility here is always keyÂ
When we shift into warrior threeÂ
So let’s take time to exploreÂ
Chair yoga will leave you wanting more
Â
Balance a block on the palm of hand
Rotation with block
