Grinch Oreo Balls Ingredients
- Golden Oreos + red food coloring – since it’s so hard to find red velvet Oreos (who knows when they’ll be back), we’re making them ourselves!
- Cream cheese – make sure to use brick-style
- Light green candy melts – make sure to get “light green” or these Oreo holiday balls will be too dark
- Red heart sprinkles – the cutest little sprinkles that make this candy truffles recipe!

How to Make Grinch Oreo Balls
We have a more detailed recipe in the Recipe Card at the bottom of the post, but here’s a quick overview of how to make Grinch Oreo Balls!
- Make the truffle “dough”: Blend Oreos and red food coloring in a food processor into a red mixture. Using a hand mixer, whip cream cream until softened. Blend in Oreo cookies to form a dough.

- Scoop into balls: Use a cookie scoop to scoop Oreo dough into balls. Roll in hands until smooth. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Coat balls: Melt green candy melts and dip Oreo balls, placing on a lined baking pan.

- Drizzle & sprinkle: Drizzle candy melts over Grinch Oreo truffles. Press a red heart sprinkle onto each truffle. Chill in fridge until firm. Enjoy the yummiest Grinch Oreo Balls recipe!

Grinch Oreo Truffles Tips
- Can’t find red velvet Oreos? Simply add red food coloring to golden Oreos. You can also use natural food coloring, but the color will be lighter.
- If you want the Grinch Oreo balls to be less mousse-like, blend the Oreos less initially. Adding the red dye takes many rounds and produces soft centers (which we love.)
- For even-sized balls, use this cookie scoop. It also speeds things up!
- To quickly soften cream cheese to room temperature: remove foil wrapper and heat for 10 seconds in the microwave.
