Pear Salad with Feta Cheese, Gorgonzola, or Goat Cheese

You know when I shared balsamic dressing that there was an equally delicious salad coming. This incredible Pear Salad recipe is the soul mate to said dressing, packed with sweet pears, crunchy pecans, fresh leafy greens like arugula and spinach, and topped with your favorite crumbly cheeses: feta cheese, gorgonzola cheese, or goat cheese—you choose!

This pear and goat cheese salad (or pear gorgonzola salad) is truly one of my favorites because it has the subtle sweetness that’s balanced so well with tangy dressing that I look for in all my favorite salad recipes. It’s easy to make, so beautiful at the dinner or lunch table, and super impressive for holiday gatherings.

The best part? This salad is so easy to customize! Let’s grab these ingredients and start making one of your new favorite, go-to recipes!

Pear Salad ingredients include pears, spring mix lettuce, dried cranberries, feta cheese, gorgonzola cheese or goat cheese, pecans, and balsamic vinegar.

Pear Salad Recipe Ingredients

  • Leafy greens: I used spring mix lettuce and greens, but some might prefer to go all in with arugula, a bitter green that complements sweet pear so well
  • Pears: pick small pears that are ripened for juicy, sweet flavor
  • Dried cranberries: chewy, tart, and sweet, this and pecans are my favorites for adding delicious texture
  • Pecans or walnuts: pick your fave to add in, or use both!
  • Crumbly cheese: I used feta cheese, but you can use gorgonzola or goat cheese
  • 1 recipe balsamic dressing or honey mustard dressing
  • Salt and pepper to taste

What Dressing to Use with Pear Salad?

The best salad dressing to use with this pear salad recipe is this homemade balsamic dressing. It’s made with rich balsamic vinegar, a touch of honey, tangy Dijon mustard, and extra virgin olive oil. It’s incredible on this salad. Another favorite: the sweeter and tangy honey mustard dressing.

What Cheese Do I Use?

  • Feta cheese – salty, flavorful, and creamy, this is my personal favorite and what’s usually the crowd pleaser.
  • Gorgonzola cheese – you either hate it or love it, it’s quite tangy with a distinct flavor that goes well with pear salad.
  • Goat cheese – bright and tangy and a little pungent, this cheese also goes well with pear salad.

What to Serve with Pear Salad

  • Salad Spinner – my mom’s go-to salad prep tool. Makes drying washed greens so much faster & keeps the salad more crisp!
  • Salad Bowl – a beautiful Acacia wood set with tongs that makes this salad that much more special.
  • Salad Dressing Bottle – airtight with a spout and measuring lines, this bottle is so convenient for homemade dressings!
