In a press release this week, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and Mount Sinai announce they have come to a new multi year agreement. This is great news for NY small group health insurance employers as their access to both Mt Sinia doctors and hospitals have been restored. Please see the announcement below:
The new contract ensures renewed access to Mount Sinai hospitals and physicians, with physicians in-network effective January 1, 2026, and facilities in-network as of March 4, 2026. It provides predictable unit cost trends and network stability through 2028, and reflects a strong balance of access, quality, and value for your clients.
Importantly, we secured payment increases aligned with CPI and Hospital CPI and incorporated value-based-reimbursement incentives tied to quality improvement and total cost of care. Just as critical, we preserved key protections for employer-sponsored plans, including claims audit rights, itemized billing requirements for high-cost services, and the ability to review medical records prior to payment.
The agreement also maintains important cost-control tools, prevents excessive price increases, and provides long-term predictability for employers and their employees.
