Here’s a recap of my trip to Charlotte for the Benson Boone Concert!

If I had to choose a favorite artist right now, it would be Benson Boone. I’ve been following him since the first time I heard “Beautiful Things” on the radio. One could say I’m crushing hard!

Back in 2024, Katie, Sean and I went to see him in Richmond. He was still up and coming, and this was a general admission show that was maybe half full. This time? The Spectrum Center in Charlotte was packed like sardines!

We drove down during the day Wednesday and arrived at my sister’s house. She surprised Emerson with tickets to her first concert for Em’s upcoming 10th birthday. We changed into our going-out clothes and headed uptown!

The Albion Fit City Jumpsuit (and all of Albion Fit) is 25% off right now with the code LD25KATHEATS!

We had dinner at Angeline’s before the show, which was great. I had an Old Fashioned and the whipped feta dip to start.

Plus some Italian wine and an eggplant pasta dish.

We had to run through the pouring rain to get into the Spectrum Center!

We had AMAZING seats because I was ready online during the presale and snagged the best ones I could find! Row A, right near the end of the catwalk. As someone who is not tall, I loved having the front row view! I could see every ab muscle on that man!

Em and I sang the whole time! It’s so fun going to a concert when you know nearly every word to every song – even the unreleased one!

The highlights for me were “Young American Heart,” when a million paper hearts shot from the ceiling; “I Wanna Be The One You Call” because it’s so fun to sing; “Before You” because he didn’t play it last time; and the unreleased song he played on the piano because I love it!

I can’t wait for the next show (and the next album!)

While we were leaving, we ran into one of our gym friends who moved away – Katie and her husband! Such a fun coincidence to see them with that many people in the arena.

I stayed in Charlotte an extra day so I could hang out with my nieces a little more!

Including this niece:

I did lots of walks through their neighborhood, which is just stunning.

I’ll take one of these two, please:

I walked to a coffee shop for matcha, and we got Yafo Kitchen bowls for lunch.

We went to Catalina for dinner Thursday night.

Larbs and Matt recommended the Oaxacan Old Fashioned, which did not disappoint.

We shared a bunch of small plates – Brussels, cauliflower, tacos!

It was a great quick visit!
