Independence Blue Cross (IBX) is proud to celebrate Dr. Domenick Bucci, vice president of medical management and medical policy, who received the Humanitarian Award from the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). Dr. Bucci was honored at AACR’s annual Party with a Purpose gala on October 25, 2026, in Philadelphia.
The award recognizes Dr. Bucci’s longstanding commitment to improving health care and giving back to the community. Throughout his career, he has worked to improve the health care experience for patients while encouraging other physicians to find meaningful ways to make a difference beyond their day-to-day work.
Dr. Bucci was honored alongside Dr. Robert H. Vonderheide, director of the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania; Dr. Andrew Rech, assistant professor of pathology and laboratory medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, and the HEADstrong Foundation.
Throughout his career, Dr. Bucci has combined his passion for patient care and health care leadership with a strong commitment to serving others.
