Transformation of the Day: Angela lost 93 pounds. Her journey is about more than numbers on the scale. It’s about breaking a cycle of health challenges and encouraging her family. She worked with a coach for guidance and support, and her hard work has paid off.
When did you start your weight loss journey? What was your motivation?
I started my weight loss journey last year. The reason I started was because all of my siblings, nieces, and nephews have type 1 diabetes and other health issues. I wanted to motivate my entire family so that we could encourage each other.
What’s inspiring me to keep going is that I want my family to be healthier. A friend of mine told me about Terry Starks’weight loss program, and I started it to encourage my family as well as myself. So many people in my family have passed away from diabetes, cancer, and just plain overeating unhealthy foods. I’m trying to break the unhealthy lifestyle cycle and show them that simply eating healthier foods and working out on Terry Stark’s program has helped me tremendously. Terry introduced me to a healthier way of eating, and it worked for me.
How did you change your eating habits?
Terry created a meal plan tailored to my specific nutritional needs. I have embraced a low-carb, high-protein lifestyle. I stopped eating junk food. Also, I no longer eat meat. I became a vegetarian and I love it!
What is your exercise routine?
I do 30 minutes of cardio twice a day.
How many days a week do you work out?
I work out seven days a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My heaviest was 308 pounds. I’m now down to 215 pounds. My weight loss journey is continuing. My goal is to get down to 175 pounds.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson that I learned is that if you start eating unhealthy again, your body really reacts to it each time. Your body begins to act as if you never changed your eating habits for the better.
