Located just north of the bustle of Canggu, lies Pererenan, another Balinese village on the coast that is quietly becoming one of Bali’s most desirable brunch and dining hubs. I have to say, coming to Pererenan from Canggu felt like a deep exhale, so if Canggu is feeling a little busy and you’re craving a slower pace brunch, or a coffee with a little more green around you, Pererenan is your spot.
The main strip of Pererenan, like in Canggu and Seseh, runs perpendicular to the black-sand beach that lines the southwest coast of Bali, offering a perfect opportunity for a pre- or post-brunch swim or sunbathe.
Unlike some of Bali’s more saturated café belts (cough Canggu Uluwatu), Pererenan still retains that sense of discovery and exclusivity but honestly, the menu rivals the entire island.
I had some of my absolute favourite ever brunch experiences here!
Whether you’re craving a smoothie bowl, a coffee and a pastry or an all-day brunch, Pererenan is a heavenly playground for brunch options, and your belly is going to be very happy. In this guide, I’ll take you through my favourite places to eat in Pererenan (for breakfast, brunch or early lunch) so that you can choose a good fit for your next brunch!

Woods Bali
If you like your brunch served with a side of absolutely stunning design, ‘whee the hell am i this is a dream’ design… head to Woods Bali.
The space is so earthy, grounded, warm and spacious as you can see in the images below. The menu mixes the classics with fine-dining creativity e.g. salmon croissant or duck and egg combo. It’s one of the best brunch options in Pererenan if you’re after a long, luxurious morning or a brunch with a bit of grounded elegance.
I can highly recommend the shakshuka – pictured below!

Brunch Club Pererenan
This is a Bali classic and one that is really inviting from the roadside, but in a ‘everyone knows about me’ way. Which is kind of true and not necessarily a bad thing. The café itself is bright, open, and buzzing – ideal for lazy mornings or post-surf hunger.
Brunch Club Pererenan nails the details. It’s here you can try their famous ‘porncakes’ oozing with Nutella, fluffy pancakes, and a full range of hearty brunch classics. It’s easily one of the best brunch spots in Pererenan for both food and atmosphere.
Honey, Pererenan
Tucked along the main street, Honey is as pretty as its name. I absolutely love the way the modern design is blended with the traditional Balinese architecture behind. I’m not sure if this was intentional but it certainly caught my attention!
This café combines earthy interiors with fresh, nourishing food — think ricotta toast, dweet potato fritters, your classic avo on toast, plus vibrant smoothie bowls. There’s indoor and outdoor seating to choose from depending if you’re vibing a/c or not! If you’re after the best brunch in Pererenan with vegan and gluten-free options, Honey is a top contender.

Touche Pererenan
Touche brings a touch of French flair to the Pererenan brunch scene and could be a wonderful switch-up from your daily avocado on toast order. Here you can try everything from truffle omelettes and chorizo burritos to buttery croissants. This spot feels effortlessly chic and offers a dose of European magic. The coffee is top-tier, and the design is all soft neutrals and natural light, making it also one of the most photogenic places to eat in Pererenan.
ST. ALi – Bali
ST.Ali is a slice of Melbourne’s coffee culture right here in Bali. They pride themselves on exceptional coffee and perfectly executed brunch staples.
I never actually ate from the menu here, but I had a coffee here many a time during my stay in Pererenan. I was initially drawn in by the corner placement of the cafe (it’s located on one of the main junctions, which makes for great people watching), but also the fact that every time I passed, there was a real buzz. Whenever I wanted to read my book with a coffee but be in a softly social place, this was where I came.
If you’re travelling solo and looking for a social dose, i’d say this is one of the best spots for coffee and brunch in Pererenan.
Baked Pererenan
You may remember this spot from my Uluwatu brunch guide? This is where I found my favourite matcha and a Pastel De Nata that rivals Portuguese bakeries themselves. This much-loved Bali bakery now has its own Pererenan outpost and it’s every bit as good as you’d hope.
Baked is all about your freshly baked croissants and pastries, sourdough, and a small but delicious brunch menu. They have amazing coffee and matcha and some great merch to purchase as you wait for your order. It’s got a real warm social buzz with lots of outdoor tables and benches. The kind of place you’ll end up staying for hours, before ordering another flat white and a pastry to go.

Brekky Café
This cosy, casual café has quickly become a local favourite. Brekky Café serves exactly what its name promises. Try their truffle eggs or the Big Brekky for a solid start to your day. The vibe is chilled, the service warm, and the coffee – just how you want it.
My final two are more lunch / dinner spots but theres no way I could do a guide without them. They were probably my favourite meals on the island.
Roots
Do yourself a favour and head to Roots to build your own bowl. See image below.
This was hands down the yummiest bowl I’ve ever had (yep, ever), and we came back twice for it because the cravings were just too much to experience it again! Packed with health, flavour, colour and style, these bowls are a solid 10.
If something healthy but tasty in an elegant and earthy environment is your vibe, Roots is going to be the best place for lunch in Pererenan!

Shelter
Last but most certainly not least, get yourself a reservation at Shelter. If you leave it until last minute or try turning up, chances are they won’t have space for you. It’s that good. It’s that in demand.
They accurately describe themselves on their website as an oasis of flavour. Shelter is the kind of restaurant where you can taste the passion and creativity of the chef in every bite. Shelter is inspired by the vibrant flavours of the Middle East and the Mediterranean, with dishes like stone-baked za’atar, citrus and spice crushed yellowfin tuna, whipped chickpeas with smoked paprika and wood roasted king prawns.
This is a date night spot, one where you order 7 dishes between you and a spot for when you want the food to blow you away.
View the lunch / dinner menu here.
Basically, if you’re planning a food-filled Bali trip, don’t skip this neighbourhood — it’s home to some of the best brunch in Pererenan and a handful of places to eat in Pererenan that could easily become your new favourites.
Do you have any other favourite brunch or coffee spots in Pererenan?
I’d love to know!
Love as always and happy adventuring,
