What is Pineapple Fluff?

Pineapple fluff is an old-fashioned dessert salad, just like your grandma used to make. It’s made by combining Cool Whip, instant pudding mix, fruit and marshmallows to create a creamy, whipped dessert.

Old Fashioned Pineapple Fluff Ingredients

  • Crushed pineapple – be sure to add the pineapple juice from the can into this recipe—it’s what hydrates the pudding mix.
  • Cool Whip – thaw at room temperature for about 1 hour, give or take.
  • Instant vanilla pudding mix – make sure to use instant, not the cook kind that takes awhile to make.
  • Marshmallows – I like using classic mini marshmallows, but you can use tropical.
  • Coconut – sweetened, shredded coconut add a lovely chewiness to this recipe, but can be left out if you prefer.

Can I Freeze Coconut Pineapple Fluff?

Yes, you can freeze this fluff salad with pineapple. When you’re ready to eat it, simply thaw for 5-10 minutes and eat it like ice cream. Thawing it completely will result is an undesirable watery, separated texture.
