Why We Love This Fresh Watermelon Sorbet
- Naturally hydrating
- Packed with vitamin C
- Easy to adjust sweetness
- Quick and easy
- Kid-approved and fun to make together!

Ingredients You Need:
- Watermelon (roughly 8-10 lbs)
- Lime (fresh is best, but you can use bottled in a pinch)
- Sweetened Condensed Milk (see below for substitution suggestions)
- Salt (this helps balance the sweetness)

Healthy Tips & Substitutions:
- Use Light Coconut Milk instead of sweetened condensed milk for a dairy-free, tropical twist. Add a little honey or maple syrup if needed.
- Cut back on added sugar by using less sweetened condensed milk or swapping in plain Greek yogurt for a creamy, tangy option.
- Add a handful of frozen strawberries or mango for extra flavor and a pretty color boost!
- Make it a popsicle: Pour the blended mixture into popsicle molds and freeze for an easy grab-and-go treat.
- Let the kids help! Have little ones scoop out the melon, add ingredients to the blender, or taste test for sweetness.

Servings: 6
-
Cut the watermelon in half and scoop out the fruit, reserving the watermelon juice. If desired, save half of the rind for serving.
-
Place the fruit on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Put in the freezer for at least 4 hours. Keep the reserved watermelon juice in a container in the fridge until needed.
-
Once the watermelon is frozen, remove from the freezer and put in a blender (not all of it will fit, you will have to do it in batches).
-
To the blender, add juice from half of the lime, the salt, and about half of the sweetened condensed milk. Pour in about half of the reserved watermelon juice. Blend, pulsing if needed, until smooth.
-
Continue adding more frozen watermelon to the blender along with the additional sweetened condensed milk, lime juice, and watermelon juice to your preferred taste and texture.
-
Pour into the reserved watermelon rind or individual serving dishes and enjoy! Store any leftovers in a sealed container in the freezer.
