It’s the perfect healthy summer drink: creamy, tangy, refreshing, and surprisingly satisfying on a hot day. Unlike the original version, this one is low in carbs and packed with protein, making it more satisfying and filling.

And thanks to the cottage cheese, more than half the calories come from protein, which is pretty darn impressive for a sweet drink!

You only need four ingredients and a blender. Just toss everything in, give it a quick pulse, and enjoy. Whether you’re craving a cool afternoon drink or a post-workout treat, this whipped lemonade is sure to please!

Key Ingredients

Low-fat (2% milk fat) cottage cheese: The star ingredient that makes this drink high in protein and ultra creamy when blended. We use a low-fat cottage cheese to slightly increase the protein percentage, but you can use full-fat if you like.

Lemon juice: Freshly squeezed is best, but bottled lemon juice works in a pinch.

Allulose: We use sugar-free allulose since it dissolves well and has no weird aftertaste. But you can sub with monk fruit, erythritol, or any preferred sugar-free sweetener.

Ice: Chills and thickens the drink, giving it that frozen whipped texture. Adjust the number of cubes for a thicker or thinner consistency.

Prep Steps

Add ingredients to a blender: Combine cottage cheese, lemon juice and allulose in blender and blend until smooth. Add ice cubes and blend again until smooth and creamy.

Taste and adjust: Give it a taste and add more sweetener as desired, then blend again to mix.

Serve immediately: Pour into glasses and enjoy!

Variations

Berry whipped lemonade: Add a few fresh or frozen strawberries or raspberries before blending for a fruity twist. Note that you may need to add a little more sweetener to balance the tartness.

Mint lemonade: Add a few fresh mint leaves for minty, refreshing flavor.

Lime version: Swap lemon juice for lime juice for a tangier, margarita-like flavor.

How to Store

This whipped lemonade is best enjoyed immediately. Store any leftover whipped lemonade in an airtight container in the refrigerator (not the freezer!) for up to 1 day. It may separate slightly, so just give it a quick stir or re-blend before drinking.
