S’mores Dip

Growing up, we didn’t get to go camping much, but we did get to try our hands at making s’mores. (Ah, priorities.) But the thing that I really hated? Burnt marshmallows! Why, oh why were the only results pale, still-hard marshmallows or burnt and inedible ones?! Well, today’s super easy S’mores Dip solves all of these woes! We’ll be making a dip with a rich, decadent layer of semi-sweet chocolate topped with fluffy, puffed up and toasted to perfection marshmallows that taste divine to dip graham crackers, strawberries, and just about everything in!

3 Ingredient S’mores Dip Recipe

  • Chocolate chips – I like using an entire 12-oz bag of chocolate chips for a sultry, thick layer of chocolate.
  • Marshmallows – feel free to use minis, flavored, or whatever your heart desires in your s’mores dip!
  • Graham crackers – for the classic smores vibe, but you can use fruit, animal crackers, and more, just like in peanut butter dip.

How to Make S’Mores Dip

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Pour chocolate chips into an even layer in 8-inch oven-safe skillet and bake for 2 minutes.
  2. Arrange marshmallows in an even layer over the melted chocolate. Bake for about 6 minutes, until the marshmallows are golden and toasted.
  3. Serve with graham crackers, baked tortilla chips, strawberries, and more. Enjoy!

Tips for the Best S’mores Dip

  • Don’t skip the initial 2 minutes of baking to melt the chocolate. This ensures the chocolate is fully melted, not cold and solid beneath the marshmallows.
  • Toast until golden. I know it can be hard to wait to dig in, but bake this dip until the tops are golden and just a bit crisp—this truly gives them an authentic s’mores by the campfire vibe.
  • Evenly pack the marshmallows in the skillet. I love how they puff up in the oven and combine into puffy one layer. Too few and you’ll just get random loose marshmallow bits.

Variations

  • Try a combination of dark chocolate chips and white chocolate chips. You can melt one layer, then add the other carefully on top, then place the top layer of marshmallows.
  • Use colorful marshmallows for special occasions like orange and black for Halloween, pink for Valentine’s Day, etc.
  • Make minis! Make super cute individual S’mores dip in tiny skillets like these 3.5″ mini skillets.
