What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
Although I was diagnosed with diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol in my 20s-30s, I still didn’t take my health seriously. I work in healthcare. Seeing people my age with the same conditions being immobile, missing limbs etc…I said, “I don’t want that to be me.” I need to do better for myself and my family. I decided I want to live, not exist.

How did you change your eating habits?
I increased my protein intake. I also stopped eating all fast food, processed food, and food with added sugars. 80% of my diet consists of whole foods, lean meats, fruits, and veggies.

What is your workout routine?
I started going to the gym without a plan, other than just showing up. I met a trainer who helped me keep going. He gave me a plan, and I still use it. I also joined a step aerobics class and Cross Fit.

How often did you work out?
I work out six days a week, and some days I work out twice in one day.

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
Starting Weight: 320ish pounds
Current Weight: 250 pounds

What is your height?
5’10”

When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I’ve worked out and dieted off and on through the years. January 18, 2025, was my first day in the gym, and I took it day by day.

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, surgery has not been a part of my journey.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?

  • Give yourself grace. It didn’t take a day to gain it. It won’t take a day to lose it.
  • Progression over perfection.
  • One bad choice won’t cancel all of your hard work.
  • 10 hours in the gym one day won’t give you results. 1 hour a day for 10 weeks will. Consistency is key.

What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Take it one day at a time. Don’t rely on the scale. Off scale victories are just as important. Be kind to yourself.
