Chive Garlic Butter Ingredients

  • Butter – use unsalted butter and soften it to room temperature about an hour before
  • Garlic – We’ll use 1 1/2 cloves of garlic and mince it for better flavor
  • Garlic Salt – my homemade recipe yields incredible flavor, but you can use store-bought or plain salt
  • Seasoned Salt – adds a small kick of spice to enhance the garlic flavors and a bit of tasty saltiness
  • Parmesan Cheese – you can skip this ingredient if you prefer, but I recommend it to embolden this garlic chive butter recipe’s flavors.
  • Parsley – it’s not pretty if there isn’t parsley!

How to Make Garlic Butter

It’s super easy to make garlic butter with parsley or chives. With just two small steps to prep for this recipe, including softening the butter and mincing garlic (or using store-bought), the rest is just a few steps.

  1. Add softened butter, minced garlic, homemade garlic salt, seasoned salt, Parmesan, and parsley to a small bowl.

How to Make Roasted Garlic Butter

To make roasted garlic butter, use 1-3 cloves mashed roasted garlic, to taste, in place of the minced garlic. Also try roasted garlic bread and roasted garlic aioli.

Tips

  • To save a bit of time, use store-bought minced garlic. For bolder flavor, mince garlic yourself.
  • To soften butter quickly, set an unwrapped stick on a microwave-safe plate. Heat for 5-10 seconds only. It’ll soften up faster now.
  • Use this homemade garlic salt for bigger, delicious garlic flavor. For less garlic flavor, simply use plain salt.
