How to Make Shrimp Alfredo
- In a large pasta pot, cook pasta according to package directions in salted water. Reserve 1 cup pasta water and drain pasta.
- Melt butter and olive oil in a large pan over medium high heat. Add shrimp, salt and pepper. Cook until shrimp is pink, about 3 minutes, then transfer shrimp to a plate.
- Bring the same pan to medium heat, swirling 1/4 cup butter to melt and coat the pan. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add in heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, nutmeg (the secret ingredient!) and black pepper. Increase heat to medium high and stir ingredients together until well mixed. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium.
- Gradually stir in Parmesan, cooking until thickened. Stir in shrimp and add pasta water as needed to thin out sauce. Add in pasta and toss. Serve easy shrimp Alfredo with parmesan, parsley and black pepper. Enjoy!

Easy Shrimp Alfredo with Frozen Shrimp
To make things a bit easier, we can make this easy shrimp Alfredo with frozen shrimp! Place frozen shrimp in a colander nestled in a bowl. Fill with cold water and let it sit for 10 minutes on the counter. Once softened, rinse and use in this recipe. Or, thaw in the refrigerator overnight.
Garlic Shrimp Alfredo Pasta Recipe
To make the garlic-forward Garlic Shrimp Alfredo Pasta recipe, make fettuccine Alfredo instead and toss with garlic butter shrimp. I highly recommend sprinkling garlic salt over the dish before serving. *Chef’s kiss*

Shrimp Alfredo – Sauce in a Jar Recipe
To make shrimp Alfredo with jarred sauce, follow the recipe below but skip making the sauce. Instead, heat up jarred Alfredo sauce in the same large pan that’s used to cook the shrimp. Stir in Parmesan (if desired or needed) and toss with pasta and shrimp.
