The Korea most people never see
Beyond the food and the friendships, South Korea handed Charli a set of experiences she hadn’t even known to look for.
“Staying at a working temple, walking around the Gamcheon Culture Village, dressing in a traditional Hanbok, speaking with a North Korean defector, and watching the female Haenyeo divers on Jeju Island were all amazing experiences I will never forget. I couldn’t wait to share them with my friends and family as they are opportunities that are once in a lifetime.”
That’s the thing about South Korea. Most people arrive expecting K-pop and street food – and they get that, and it’s brilliant. But it doesn’t stop there. It’s more layered, more surprising, and ends up being way more than you expected.
